About Me |
After a thirty year career in teaching, in January 2012 I took early retirement and began a new career as a Civil Funeral Celebrant. With this in mind I took a Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy, as yet the only nationally accredited funeral celebrant qualification in the UK.
I have long believed that in our increasingly secular society many people want a funeral service that is not wholly church or religion based. But nor do they necessarily want a completely secular service like those usually delivered by members of the British Humanist Association.
As a professionally trained funeral celebrant and a member of the Institute of Civil Funerals I will help you create a truly personal ceremony that is exactly as you want it to be.
Not everyone wants the same type of funeral and I will meet with you to fully explain and discuss the ceremony. If you wish I will give help and guidance in choosing any music, readings or prayers that you may want to include.
You will be able to check the ceremony content beforehand and, if you wish, afterwards I will provide you with a full text of the ceremony to keep.
And remember, the ceremony is for the family to honour their loved one’s memory. Whatever you want to happen can happen. Almost anything is possible.
There are no requirements as to content, music, dress or even location of a funeral ceremony and I will help and support you in whatever you decide to do.
And finally, rest assured that I will do my best to ensure that the ceremony captures the essence of the person and tells the story of the life that has been lived. |
